The correlation between the serum insulin-like growth factor 1 level and body weight in children with a height less than the 10th percentile

Introduction This study aimed to analyze the correlation between serum insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and body weight provide some bases for clinical judgment of influencing factors on children's height. Material methods A total 333 children with a height less than 10th percentile were enrolled in this study. Among these children, 212 male 121 female. The age ranged within 5-14-years-old. Serum IGF-1 level was detected Z-scores (SDS) children’s height, weight, mass index (BMI) measured. among analyzed using Pearson’s analysis. Results Age, SDS, BMI SDS all correlated (P<0.0001).
